Our Mission:

Athena Therapy is dedicated to assisting our clients in obtaining their highest level of function through exceptional physical, occupational and speech therapy.  Additionally, we are committed to providing world-class care, while maintaining integrity and complaint with all federal, state and local laws. 


In addition, our Howland and Girard locations are certified rehab agencies, a federally approved program that provides an integrated multidisciplinary program designed to improve the physical function of handicapped individuals.

About our Outpatient Clinics:

Athena Therapy utilizes a unique approach to the physical, occupational and speech therapy services.  We are small, boutique style clinics with an emphasis with one on one care in a private setting. This allows our therapist to provide quality time to fabricate an individualized treatment program to help clients achieve their goals.

Athena Therapy offers four convenient locations to services clients, with flexible hours and multiple payment options. Most insurances are accepted.

Staff Spotlight: Nick Heinzer

Hi, my name is Nick Heinzer, and I am the outpatient rehab director for Athena Therapy. I have been a physical therapist for 20 years. I graduated from Cleveland State University’s Physical Therapy Program with honors and have worked in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. I was born and raised in Girard, Ohio.

Currently, I reside in Howland, Ohio with my wife Krista who teaches 1st grade in Howland. As a physical therapist, I have written several articles for local newspapers and presented community presentations regarding various orthopedic conditions.

I was named Midwest Physical Therapist of the Year in 2014 and Midwest Director of the Year in 2015 for Physiotherapy Associates. I have a great deal of experience with postoperative rehab and orthopedic conditions. I have also worked with individuals suffering from neurological and vestibular conditions. Aside from physical therapy, I enjoy golf, cooking and spending time with my family and friends.
